The alarm went off, I hit snooze and got up on the second sounding. Well, I sat up. I stayed there for a few minutes sitting on the end of the bed and then I laid back down again. I felt awful.
Hubby came to check on me and I told him that there was no way I could make it through a day of work.
The kids both snuck in to check on me before they left for school. They can be so sweet.
I stayed in bed watching a marathon of The outer Limits until 11 am and then I got up and moved to the couch. The Best hubby in the world made me some scrambled eggs and toast and let me continue watching The Outer Limits.
I went to have a shower, but instead I crawled back into bed and slept until 3PM. I finally got up and had a shower – it helped a lot. Then it was off to the Doctor.
I got my stitches out – I didn’t feel anything – there is still a fair bit of numbness. The steri-strips left my skin inflamed. There was no sign of infection around the incisions, but I started to get light headed. They must be used to this as they whipped out the lollipops for me. The sugar helped and they recommended I keep some candy on hand.
I asked about the fever and general ill feeling. Probably nothing – just my body being run down after the trauma of surgery made me more susceptible to bugs.
Supposedly everything looks good at this stage. I am not to expect to see any improvement until the end of the second week. I need to wear the Iron Maiden compression suit for another week and then I should still try to wear something with support.
Next appointment in two weeks.
I came home and gave hubby the prognosis and the Best hubby in the World ran out and bought me a variety of candies to keep with me. Isn’t he great?
Also, I am ok to start 'light aerobics' as long as I don't overdo it. I mentioned this to Hubby - I guess he's thinking the same thing I am.
